bump shutdown announcement

Buat yang pakai iOS (Apple iPhone), sebagian besar pasti kenal dengan aplikasi Bump ini.

Bump sudah dibuat sejak 4 tahun lalu, aplikasi ini dibuat untuk mengatasi kendala pindahin file antar perangkat, terutama untuk perangkat iOS. Karena pada iOS tuker – tukeran file tidak semudah yang dibayangkan. Biasanya melalui email)

jika ada aplikasi Bump pada perangkat, pemilik perangkat cukup goyangkan (shake) perangkat tersebut ke perangkat tujuan, seketika file yang akan segera di kirim menuju perangkat tersebut.

Nah, pada awal tahun 2014 ini… aplikasi ini akan segera hengkang dari AppStore (iTunes) maupun dari Google Play.. wah sayang sekali yah..

Di telusuri ke blog-nya.. sang CEO, David Lieb, ternyata tetap mengembangkan aplikasi ini, namun tidak mengunakan bendera Bump. Mereka masuk ke dalam tim pengembangan Google…

So, siap – siap yang sudah pakai Bump, tanggal 31 Januari.. it will be over..

Wah..wah.. apakah nanti Google Drive akan semudah Bump ?? we’ll see…



3 Front-end Framework Siap dengan Responsive Design

Responsive Design

Merujuk pada Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsive_web_design) , responsive design adalah salah satu pendekatan design yang digunakan pada web agar mengoptimalkan pandangan, mudah dibaca, navigasi web yang lebih sedikit resize,panning dan scrolling,  antara beragam perangkat (mulai dari monitor desktop hingga perangkat handphone)..

Fron-end Framework

Bagi para web developer tentu banyak cara yang bisa digunakan, agar website-nya bisa menggunakan responsive design. Salah satu cara dengan memaksimalkan penggunaan HTML, Javascript, dan CSS, maka adaptasi website terhadap perangkat dapat dilakukan. Namun pengunaan HTML, Javascript, dan CSS saja, mungkin tidak bisa memuaskan pengalaman menelusuri website dan proses pembuatan “from zero” memakan waktu yang tidak sebentar, sehingga banyak developer yang mencoba mengabungkan language tersebut kedalam framework.

HTML + Javascript + CSS

3 hal ini sudah biasa menjadi tandem dalam pembuatan website. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan masing – masing language, maka framework yang saat ini ada biasanya terdiri dari HTML5 + JQuery + CSS3. Entah apa lagi yang akan di gabungkan pada masa yang datang.. hehehe…


Berikut 3 Framework yang mungkin sedang naik daun, dan patut diketahui oleh para web developer…

1. Bootstrap

Framework ini di kembangkan di Twitter oleh @mdo dan @fat . Mengunakan kombinasi HTML5 + LESS CSS, Bootstrap pada awalnya digunakan untuk memaksimalkan tampilan web pada Internet Explorer (IE). Bootstrap juga mampu mempermudah pembuatan Grid View dengan cara membagi layar menjadi 12 columns.

Jika ditelisik dari nama-nya, seperti sedang merebus HTML5.. hehe.. Dari keterangan di website resmi, HTML5BOILERPLATE menempatkan dirinya sebagai front-end template. Project ini dikembangkan oleh sekelompok orang yang kreatif, dimana mereka berkumpul di http://h5bp.github.com/


HTML5BOILERPLATE juga menyedikan custom build, yang memperbolehkan developer untuk menyesuaikan component yang dibutuhkan sehingga lebih pas (hmm…mungkin jadi lebih cepat webnya)

3.Foundation (by Zurb)

Satu lagi tidak ketinggalan adalah “Foundation”, yang dikembangkan oleh sebuah perusahaan bernama Zurb. Pada Foundation disiapkan “Off Canvas Layout”, yang akan semakin menambah kaya interaksi user dalam website.

Pakai yang mana ?

Tentu saja, tergantung dari selera masing – masing developer. Hohoho…  Banyak cara dan framewok atau pun template front-end lain yang bisa digunakan. Namun dengan menggunakan yang “sudah jadi”, seharusnya lebih menghemat waktu dan biaya web development..
