Flock, the social web browser

Yup, Flock adalah sebuah software browser, dengan dukungan Mozilla, sama seperti Firefox…

Tapi apa yang beda dari Flock dengan browser lain ??? .. let’s check it out…!!..

Flock bisa didownload di website resminya http://flock.com/ , sekitar 10 MB untuk versi 1.1
Dari tag line-nya disebutkan “the social web browser”..
hmm.. ternyata browser ini dirancang khusus untuk dengan philosopy, untuk menghadirkan pengalaman ber-internet dengan sentuhan personal, dimana penguna mengendalikan dan semakin terkoneksi dengan hal yang penting baginya…

Hmm.. semakin penasaran.. akhirnya g coba download Flock dan install…
Kesan pertama begitu menggoda, hehehe.. kayak iklan aja..
Ya, sekilas akan terlihat sama dengan Firefox, ada tab, standart toolbar, address bar dan seterusnya…
Tapii…
Terdapat fasilitas “Side-bar”, yang terdiri dari Favorites, History, People, Feed, Webclip boards, Account and Services…
Buat g, yang agak surprise adalah side bar People , Feed , Webclipboard…
dengan adanya sidebar ini, jika kita terkoneksi dengan website seperti Facebook, Flick, Youtube, Cnet, dst….. maka side bar akan terintegrasi dengan layanan dari website tersebut…

Contohnya g coba login ke Facebook.. secara otomatis side bar People akan menampilkan teman – teman kita yang ada di Facebook, sehingga mempermudah untuk melakukan Poke, Message, Wall post, Share Link, View Profile, Give Gift, Share Flock….

Selain fasilitas Side bar, ada juga menu Tools dengan pilihan Web Search, Photo Uploader, Web Clipboard, Feeds, Blog Editor, dan Media Bar…
Wah tool – tool ini sangat membantu sekali…

Web Search, sama seperti di Firefox, sebuah textbox untuk mengetikan kata kunci, dengan pilihan web engine ternama (Google, Yahoo, dst..)

Photo Uploader, akan mempermudah buat yang sering upload foto. Tinggal pilih foto yang akan diupload, lalu kita dapat melakukan crop, rotate, dan bahkan resize filenya.. setelah fotonya ok, tinggal click upload….

Web Clipboard, nah ini mempermudah kita kalo mo comot2x sesuatu dari website, gak perlu harus download or save.. Cukup Drag and Drop yang mo diambil…

Feeds, ini tool sebagai Feed Reader, kita bisa mengkonfigurasi tool ini untuk menyesuaikan feed yang mo kita dapatkan… secara otomatis beberapa website seperti Yahoo, CNN, sudah terintergrasi dengan Flock…

Blog Editor, kita gak perlu lagi tool2x lain untuk bikin blog, Flock akan terintergrasi dengan blogsite tersebut, contohnya WordPress ini.. cukup pilih blog editor, lalu akan muncul dialog window sebagai text editor.. nah disini kita bisa masukan link , picutre, atau media, atau bahkan bisa ambil media dari Web Clipboard…

Media Bar, tool ini akan membantu kita menampilkan media dari site – site yang sudah kita intergrasikan dengan Flock, misalnya Youtube, Photobucket.. hmm.. kalo g nyoba login ke Facebook, nah media bar ini bisa dimanfaatin untuk lihat foto2x yang dishare oleh teman2x kita…
Nah cukup sekian crita – crita tentang Flock-nya lebih baik coba aja deh.. and feel the new experiences while getting connected with others….
